Educational Assessment

Educational assessments measure a child’s academic ability level in a range of areas including oral language, basic reading, reading comprehension and fluency, written expression, mathematics and maths fluency. An objective measurement tool is used to identify areas of academic strength and weakness. Results acquired through the assessment process provide an indicator of a child’s skill in a particular academic area compared to a normative age- or grade-matched sample. Assessment tools used include Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT), Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing CTOPP-2, Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT-5), Expressive Vocabulary Test (EVT3).

Therapy

The therapy that is provided is targeted to meet the goals of the individual. therapy is delivered in a one-on-one capacity and can be delivered in clinic or in agreeance with the clients school, a school visit can be conducted. Therapy is individualised and delivered in a way that suits the needs of the individual. Some goals might be to increase capacity for reading, comprehension, development of ideas, spelling, written output, letter formation and mathematical operations.
